Another one of my secret weapons to help keep you young and healthy- Chia Seeds
Women often ask me what I eat, drink or what kind of routine I have to stay young, healthy and slim, a side from applying Swiss Toniq products so today I’ll share another one of my secret weapons with you. This is one of my all time favourite health hacks.
Chia seeds, a tiny superfood that has been prized for its abundant nutritional properties since ancient times. I'm excited to share with you some incredible health benefits of incorporating chia seeds into your diet, it’s something I eat every day and has no taste so incorporates into any meal or drink easily. It also costs very little, can be found in most supermarkets and can be stored for very long periods.
Hunger Hack: Hydration and Satisfaction
Chia seeds possess a unique ability to absorb up to 10 times their weight in fluids, making them a fantastic hunger-fighting ally. To stay hydrated and curb cravings between meals, mix a large tablespoon of chia seeds with a glass of water and drink immediately. As soon as the chia seeds hit your stomach they absorb the water, leaving you feeling satiated with minimal calories. You can even add a dash of citrus juice for added flavour if you prefer.
How else to consume them
A teaspoon of chia seeds can be sprinkled onto your salad, smoothie, yoghurt, toast and jam and even added to sauces to thicken them
Ancient Wisdom Meets Modern Nutrition
The history of chia seeds is rich, dating back to the Aztec and Mayan civilisations, where they were a staple in the diet of their mighty warriors. Aztec warriors could go on a march for days or weeks, and just eat chia seeds, and drink water!
