The red algae Porphyra ( Porphyra umbilicalis ) is an organism that lives in shallow water or on the beach where it is exposed to extreme UV radiation. It produces nature's strongest UV absorbing substances.

Bemotrizinol is a broad-spectrum UV absorber, absorbing UVB as well as UVA rays. It is very photostable. It is the most effective UV absorber available measured by SPF.

Is Titanium Dioxide safe for the skin?

Following a client remark we would like to clarify that Titanium Dioxide is a natural mineral that comes from the earth and is proven safe in all products that sit on the skin. We would like to reassure you with the following facts
1) Titanium Dioxide can only be considered unsafe if consumed internally or inhaled in large doses. This is because it is a fine powder that sits in the liver and cannot be easily digested. When applying it on your skin, there is no way these particles can access your internal organs
2) We use ’non nano particles. This means the particles are of a large size so do not penetrate the skin and do not enter the blood stream. They simply sit on the skins surface to block UV rays.
